The Madrid derby was quite satisfying, maybe not in the Ever Banega sense, but I felt somewhat relieved that RM took control of the game with such style. Raul's goal at 30 seconds and Iker's amazing stops were my thrills for the day.

Oh dear. I haven't been able to watch my second-favourite team, Espanyol, for the last 3 games. Unlike Ever Banega, I am frustrated. What has gone wrong? Are key players injured?

Fran Yeste. (Shakes head.) It seems like he has one good game, then one terrible game. I used to think he was so good but I'm afraid he's maybe gone past his sell-by date now. Shame, because that fog bowl looked so interesting and the Pamplona fans always give good entertainment value. I was quite looking forward to watching that game but had to turn over to my Canadian station to watch Manchester City vs West Ham instead, playing each other for the 100th time this season, that's how bad Athletic (3rd favourite team) made me feel.

Holy shit, so I go to El Salvador and there'e more futbol here than any place else I've ever been. Nice of Espanyol to forget that the game starts when the games starts. Eight seconds! How bad is it that I'm pulling for bad teams to lose as much as Betis to gain points. And, in the last two weeks Espanyol has failed me. Even though they didn't seem to hold the ball much, they did have their chances in the second half.

Hey Anonymous: One Betis fanatic to another...the club's a chaotic mess and one of the most inconsistent bad futbol clubs that I've ever seen. They continue to fail to beat the crap from La Liga and de Lopera is the devil in human form...actually he looks like a lizard, but that's just me. !Musho Betis! !Menos Sevilla!

I haven't been following Celta recently - is there a reason the club was so willing to let go of Pinto? I figure he's past his best but he was brilliant two seasons ago, I don't see why he'd be washed up. I think it was the right move avoiding a high profile signing like Ustari or Amelia but it'd be nice to get someone to actually replace Jorquera.

Love the blog, but what's wit the underlying hatred for Betis? Sure, they're a mess, and have Lopera whose has competent in his position as Hugo would be... but they've got great spirit, and a great set of fans. A club who deserve more.
