He and Torrejon work as a duo and when one is missing the replacement(Lacruz) is just not up to it.
Also half the team don't seem to be fully fit,Zabaleta;Reira: De La Peña. Another reason is ,of course, luck, first half of the season most things went right now it's the other way.
I think we will bounce back, hopefuly Ewerthon will give the squad a kick up the A***.
UEFA definitely,Champions League might be out of our reach but it will depend on Atletico and Sevilla.
BY the Way i'm Anglo/CzechPAULhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12606021546310837766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20283321.post-20534225164999184642008-01-29T02:12:00.000+01:002008-01-29T02:12:00.000+01:00They didn't show the Valencia game here. Too bad ...They didn't show the Valencia game here. Too bad because I wanted to see more of Ever Banega, but not in the webcam sense. I think it's wise that you pull our the pins & begin to pamper the Juan Soler doll. Try bringing it breakfast in bed with tea and a crumpet. See if that improves anything.

I was hoping Paul from Barcelona could fill us in on why the wheels have come off Espanyol. Paul likes Leonard Cohen? Is Paul Canadian? Just curious.

Speaking of Barcelona, the game was a snoozefest until Bilbao tied it up. Ditto for the Mallorca-Atletico game until Jose Reyes got sent off.

So the weekend's footbal consisted of two good bookend games: Sevilla v Osasuna and Real Madrid v Villareal. The games in between were rubbish. I was forced to flip over to some of the FA cup games and the FC Porto-Sporting game. Great stuff, what with ManCity's balloon fiasco and Sporting's banners catching on fire in the stands, taking a good section of the seats with them. You just can't beat that kind of stuff. Although the Osasuna coach's antics post-game were fun. (That club always gives good value.)Eddynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20283321.post-48755811132287952112008-01-29T00:24:00.000+01:002008-01-29T00:24:00.000+01:00No dude...there are few teams in this world that a...No dude...there are few teams in this world that actually have me emotionally involvedin their results: Betis, USMNT, SF Giants. Betis ARE rubbish...the others too, but I have some hope for the USMNT.

So yeah, they're getting results, but by the skin of their teeth. I go to a Spanish Betis blog and half the posters rant about the shitty mercenaries that The Evil One has signed. I...tend to agree.

Maybe Joaquin will come back.

Kent in San SalvadorAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20283321.post-12580965662181111062008-01-28T20:37:00.000+01:002008-01-28T20:37:00.000+01:00Great blog post again. They're doing very well under Chaparro. One of the best teams in the better half. Of course, "rubbish" could be correct considering everyone else are simply awful.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20283321.post-78314516368014941662008-01-28T15:30:00.000+01:002008-01-28T15:30:00.000+01:00"Rubbish"? No, they're something more pejorative than rubbish, but I appreciate you being nice and all.

The "vete ya" juxtaposed with Koeman's press conference made me laugh. Just hope that they keep it up. Betis have Depor at home and then (no)Vale-ncia away. But, with the way things are going that'll be two draws.

Onward La Liga Loca!

Kent far away from homeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20283321.post-78498314198045899032008-01-28T14:22:00.000+01:002008-01-28T14:22:00.000+01:00Er... Tim, love the Blog, but, a person from Valladolid is called a Pucelano/a, I don't know why, but its like the same Spanish logic that makes a person from Salamanca a Charro/a.Stuarthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13098213479118536780noreply@blogger.com
