Koeman's tinkering with players' positions, the mysterious banishment of 3 decent veteran players, the team's ability to reach the Copa del Rey quarter-finals yet lose their last 10 or so league games are all fascinations.

Atletico Madrid are another intriguing team. Are they going the way of Valencia? Has the expulsion of Maniche, like the loss of Albelda, caused the team to fall into disarray? Where is Atleti's Ever Banega? (I hear Jonatan Maidana might be up for a transfer.)

Getafe is a cool team. As in, they're hot. They are hip. Or hype. Whatever the vernacular. They have it going on. They may remain a mid-table team, but like England's Manchester City, or Tottenham Hotspur, they are one of this fan's most watchable teams. I am going out on a limb to say Getafe will win the Copa de Rey. However, don't bet on this. My empty wallet is proof that my predictions rarely come true.

(They should have used the wax Iker to stand beside the model of the Bernabeu at the trade fair and let the real one stay in bed next to Eva Gonzalez. I'm sure Eva Gonzalez wouldn't have appreciated things the other way around.)eddynoreply@blogger.com
